Student Life

From arrival to graduation, the Office of International Affairs supports international students with visa, insurance and everyday life.

Visa & Residence

Maintaining your visa status and completing alien registration are the basis of lawful study in Korea. Do not miss the deadlines.

International students must complete alien registration at their local Immigration Office within 90 days of arrival, and must apply for an extension before their period of stay expires. The Office of International Affairs helps with preparing documents and booking appointments.

If you change your residence, you must report it within 14 days of moving. For most services, such as a lost or expiring Alien Registration Card, book an appointment in advance at HiKorea (www.hikorea.go.kr).

Insurance

All international students must be insured against unexpected illness or accident.

Since March 2021, international students residing in Korea are automatically enrolled in National Health Insurance, becoming regional subscribers six months after arrival. For the initial gap period, please also join the student group insurance the university recommends so that you are never without cover.

When claiming insurance you must keep and submit the originals of your medical certificate (diagnosis) and pharmacy receipts . Missing documents can delay payment, so collect them right after your visit.
